3 Reasons to Cook with Ghee Butter

Ghee is a variation of clarified butter that originated in India, it's made by gently heating up unsalted butter until the milk solids evaporate. This process is what gives it a higher smoke point, and makes it free of lactose. Now that you know the science behind how it's made, let's take a look at what the health benefits are.

1.) Grassfed pasture raised ghee is packed with naturally occurring fatty acids and CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) which helps gut health, digestion, and weight loss. My favorite brand is Fourth and Heart

2.) High heat cooking! Ghee has a high smoke point which allows you to saute, bake and roast up to 485 degrees without turning into a trans-fat.

3.) Rich buttery taste, the unique process of making ghee leaves it with a nutty rich flavor that can be used in just about anything. One of my favorite ways to use ghee is when I make my crispy salmon salad
